FISHING REPORT

January 017, 2012 Water Temp: 55-58 As always on Lk Amistad, there are several patterns that can produce on any given day. Largemouth and stripers are still schooling in select main lake areas. As always, birds will direct you near any surface activity. Schooling fish are fast and fun but the recent warm weather and awesome forecast for the next several days will increase shallow activity 10 fold. In years past, Ive found a few fish spawning by the last week of January. Based on this forecast, the next couple weeks weather may cause for an explosion in select areas. Prespawn fish will be found suspended in brush tops and near deep creek edges. Deep jerkbaits, swimbaits, and jigs will work well... Please call if youd like to book a trip,,, Thanks
Feb 5, 2012 Water Temp: upper 50s As always on Lk Amistad, there are several patterns that can produce on any given day. The Spawn has arrived. The first wave of bed fish have started but as always, the weather will move them in and out. The past few days have been mixed as Ive caught fish from 5ft to 65ft. Most all major creeks are producing quality fish. Schooling fish are still active but not consistent. Diving birds will show you the way. Its time for the lake to produce a ShareLunker (13lb+). If you catch a lunker you can call the 24-hour pager at 1-888-784-0600 for rules and info or go to their website: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/visi torcenters/tffc/sharelunker/ Lets go fishing!
