Water temp - mid 50's
Wind: 20mph plus
 
Number of  Fish caught: 25 plus
Size: dinks to 8 lbs.
Depth: shallow and deep
Lures to use: Swim baits, drop shot, jigs, and... a secret
 
Caught my first site/bed fish of 2010 today (both male/female) but the better bite was deep. Yesterday, we caught quality fish on 5 different baits and saw several male fish on beds. Some fish have made the move toward the spawn but an approaching cold front in a few days will set it back. As always, this lake has several good patterns at the same time. Tequila Worms are working well in the shallows fished on a 1/4 oz Texas rig and on a drop shot in 30-40 ft. Crankbaits, jerkbaits, and rattle traps are working in spawning areas... The lake is alive and well. A few warm nights along with non windy sunny days and the bite will be on. I think we will see several LARGE fish caught in the coming weeks. The Spawn is here...
